What is Physiotherapy?

Physiotherapy is a natural and safe approach designed to relieve pain and improve mobility. The goal of physiotherapy is to reduce pain, strengthen muscles, and enhance mobility, ensuring that your treatment plan is comfortable and tailored to your needs.

Active participation in both in-office sessions and at-home exercises is crucial for achieving the best results from physiotherapy.

Maintaining good posture, strong muscles, and healthy joints contributes to better balance, endurance, and pain prevention. One of the key advantages of physiotherapy is that it helps you avoid the potential side effects associated with prescription medications and surgery.

A physiotherapist is a movement expert, skilled in diagnosing and treating mobility issues related to walking, running, jumping, bending, stretching, and nearly every other type of physical activity.

Physiotherapy encompasses three main stages: pain relief, muscle strengthening, and functional integration. While some may worry that physiotherapy might be uncomfortable or harmful, it is designed to alleviate, not cause, pain. The ultimate aim is to reduce or eliminate pain, helping you regain your full range of motion and quality of life.

Pain Management

Our physical therapists are trained to help manage pain and improve physical function, using a variety of non-pharmacological approaches such as manual therapy, exercise, and education.

Geriatric Therapy

We specialize in treating seniors with conditions such as arthritis, osteoporosis, and balance issues, to improve mobility and quality of life.

Sports Injury Rehabilitation

Our team of sports physical therapists work closely with athletes to help them recover from injuries, improve performance, and prevent future injuries.

Women's Health

We offer specialized programs for women's health issues such as pelvic pain, incontinence, and prenatal/postpartum care.

Virtual Physical Therapy

We offer online physical therapy services for patients who prefer the convenience of telehealth, or for those who live too far from our clinics.

Personalized Care

At Calgary Health Physiotherapy, we believe in treating the whole person, not just the injury. We work with each patient to develop a customized treatment plan that meets their specific needs.
